Moves very well for the position and uses his athleticism to create separation, more so linearly in a straight line, but not so much laterally. Recognizes zones very well and makes sure to sit down in zones without running straight through them. Is also good at the catch point because of his catch radius and body control when going up for the ball.
Right off the bat, the problem with Sullivan that he has 1 year of tight end experience. He moved from WR for his senior year and was a flex/move tight end. He isn’t going to be blocking very often and didn’t at LSU, but when he did, he didn’t get much push because of poor hand usage and lack of any leverage advantage at all. As a route runner he isn’t real snappy in and out of his routes and needs to improve as a route runner. Despite his size, he allowed smaller DBs to get their hands on him and disrupt his route, he needs to be more physical in his routes.

Stephen Sullivan is a player I think will get serious looks from teams as a move tight end. He didn’t start for LSU because of tight end Thaddeus Moss, but I think that will be excused by teams because it was only his first year in that role. I think with some of his traits he is primed to have a good combine and will be hard for some LBs to cover.
Best Fits: Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals
