Going into 2018, LSU thought Chaisson could break the single season sack record and I can see why. Chaisson is so explosive off the line of scrimmage with his first step; he will likely test very well. He has the ability to turn corners as well and can run underneath a table. At only 250 pounds, some may instinctively have concerns with his play against the run, but he is no doubt a 3 down player and takes on blocks very well. Chaisson has the necessary strength in his lower half to hold an edge and be physical at the point of attack. I also like how he finishes plays with his hands in order to keep the tackle off of him. Additionally, he has a great motor and is a high effort guy (wore #18 for LSU which is an honorary number there).

As mentioned, Chaisson is very good with his hands, but I would like to see him improve with some of his counters and the effectiveness of them. There were times where he also let lineman get inside on him and he pretty much lost the rep after that.

Chaisson is going to be a very valuable player for a lot of teams because of the pass rush and bend that he brings to the table. Chaisson is going to test very well at the combine, showing off his fluid movement skills. His skillset will most definitely require an early 1st round pick and will probably go higher than expected because of the need for pass rush ability. He shouldn’t be compared to other lighter edge rushers because Chaisson is solid against the run. I think he can consistently be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL.
